Brandenburg is an order castle of the 13th century. It suffered damages and revived again during its history. Commandery center and amthauptmann's residence were located right in the castle. In the 14th century the castle was famous for storing a relic – a fragment of the cross upon which Jesus had been crucified. Later Soviet settlers used to live here after the Second World War. Now Brandenburg has turned into ruins but still attracts tourirsts.
